BIRTH OF A WRITER
My first published work was the poem that went on my father’s obituary when I was nine years old. Imagine having that moment of pride in the middle of a deep, overwhelming grief. But that was the start to my writing career.
The writing dream held strong through high school and even college, but when I began adulting, I dreamt less. Sometimes, though, adulthood is when we need our childhood dreams the most. And so, I circled back to writing.
